In the past 6 months, over 20 students in Hong Kong committed suicide, from primary school kids to undergraduate students. The educational system is taking the blame, it has been giving loads of pressure on both student, teacher, and parent. In order to maintain the school ranking and survive from budget-cutting, teachers are pushed to give out lots of homework to the students. Imagine your primary school kid get 12 homework a day and that homework is harder than what your kids should learn at their age. The undergraduate students also feel hopeless in their future due to the higher-education deflation.

Rather than facing the real issue, the Education Bureau tried to divert the focus from the failure of the education system to the student incapacity of handling stress.
